Audition Monologue Workshop with Doug Smith
We are pleased to announce an online acting audition preparation class taught by acclaimed theatre educator Doug Smith. The class will include 3 personal coaching sessions, followed by an online performance that will be “open to the public.”
Doug is well known throughout San Diego County for his over 30 years of teaching, directing and producing quality theatre. Doug was the Westview Teacher of the Year,
recipient of the California Outstanding Theatre Educator Award, and was inducted into the San Diego Educational Theatre Hall of Fame. The initial offering of this Master Class will be limited to 8 participants.

VAPA Dance and Movement
A new extension to our in-school programs; this class is based on Visual and Performing Arts standards and a wonderful supplement to physical education while learning from home. Students will have a basic warm up to isolate and stretch muscles and learn some simple and fun dance movements, games, and activities. Great for elementary students age 5-11!!
Beginning Broadway Jazz
For teens through adults, students will learn basic jazz warm ups and isolations. Also, jazz technique and a weekly dance combination set to Broadway music. Ages 12+ / Zoom
Absolute Beginning Ballet
Designed for musical theater performers and anyone wanting to get a basic understanding of ballet vocabulary and technique. Students will explore basic barre exercises, broken down into an easy to follow format, as well as stretches for flexibility and simple floor work to build balance, strength, and coordination. Ages 12+
Mat Pilates
For pre teens through adults, this class is a wonderful way to lengthen and strengthen muscles, improve posture, build a strong core, improve your focus and increase your stress management abilities. Using the classic Pilates sequence, students will use their own body weight to activate their cores and challenge their muscle groups, using slow, precise movements accompanied by breath control. Exercises focus on quality over quantity, as well as precision, to sculpt long, lean muscles. Ages 12+ / Zoom
Beginning Tap
Designed for musical theater performers and anyone wanting to learn the basics of tap
vocabulary and technique. Students will learn simple tap warm ups and tap terminology each week, practiced in a slow, easy to follow format. Ages 12+ / Zoom
Fun Friday Dance with Miss Candace
Another fun supplement for at home physical education for the little ones! Each week, students will take time to stretch and warm up their muscles, learn some fun dance steps (even a bit of beginning tap technique), play dance and rhythm games for musicality, and enjoy a short story. A great way to end the school week for younger students!

Private Dance Lessons with Candace Carbajal
Stuck at home and looking for a way to continue your dance training in a one on one environment?
An accomplished performer, teacher, and choreographer, Candace has worked with several theatre companies throughout Southern California and Arizona. Candace has a B.S. In Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University -Yuma. She also has BASI Pilates certification and additional Extension Method certificates.
Private Voice Lessons with Amy Throckmorton
Amy has been creating, performing, and teaching music and theatre for over 20 years. After graduating magna cum laude from USC with degrees in theatre and music , Amy began a professional singing career that took her across the globe. Amy has performed onstage from New York, to Los Angeles, to Tokyo, and on the high seas with Holland America and Disney. Now a mother of three, Amy conducts three childrens’ choirs in North County San Diego and teaches private voice. Amy is thrilled to be part of the Luminary Arts team and have the opportunity to introduce collaborative music and arts education in local schools.
