Our safety procedures for COVID-19

COVID-19 Safety Procedures

The following is a detailed list of how Luminary Arts plans to implement regulations set by the State and the CDC.

Please note that this is an ever-changing situation, and this page will be updated as regulations change.

If you have any questions or concerns with this information, please email us with your concerns. The health and wellbeing of our teachers, students and families is our top priority.

The following list of procedures are taken from the guidance provided by the San Diego County COVID-19 Information website.

Mask Wearing Guidelines:

  • All students and family members that enter our space must be wearing a mask.

  • A mask must always be worn in all common space areas.

  • The instructors will be in a mask while teaching all classes.

  • Students will always wear masks during classes but can remove masks for breaks as needed.

  • Students in private lessons may remove masks to perform and replace the mask immediately after performing.

Dance Studio Capacity:

  • 5 students and 1 instructor will be allowed in Studios A

  • 4 students and 1 instructor will be allowed in Studios B

  • 1 student and 1 instructor will be allowed in the Private Lesson Studio

  • All family members are encouraged to drop off and return or wait outside in their cars.

  • Students will not be allowed to gather in groups. We will have a staff member to handle this situation and keep students apart while waiting for class to begin.

  • Please do not arrive early to eliminate any unnecessary waiting around.

Inside the Studio Rooms:

  • The studio floors have been marked off with tape. Each student will have at least a 6-foot box to stand inside and do all their activity.

  • No students will come within 6 feet of each other while in the studio.

  • Students must always have shoes on their feet. No bare feet allowed.

  • There will be no use of shared dance props like scarves, hoops, etc.

  • Fans and HVAC systems will be operating.

Cleaning and Sanitizing:

  • All high touch surfaces will be sanitized between classes. This includes (but not limited to) door handles, ballet barres, tables, chairs, keyboards etc.

  • The restrooms are cleaned and maintained by property management, but we will spray disinfectant on surfaces daily.

  • There will be hand sanitizer at the entrance and in each studio room.

  • All students must use hand sanitizer before entering the studio rooms.

Health Screening:

  • All staff members will be screened and have temperatures taken at the start of their shift.

  • Any staff member found ill or with symptoms will be immediately sent home and the studio will be sanitized. This will take place before any students enter the facility.

  • If a staff member is found ill or with symptoms all families will be notified immediately.

  • Students who seem symptomatic will be dismissed immediately. A family member will be contact for immediate pick up. The dance studio will be sanitized, and all family members will be contacted and made aware.
